Hello! My name is Derek Jung, and I am a second-year PhD student in the Mathematics Department at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.My advisor is Professor Jeremy Tyson. I am interested in analysis on metric spaces and more specifically, Sobolev spaces between metric spaces.
I graduated from UCLA with a B.S. in Mathematics in the Class of 2014. I am a recipient of the GAAAN Fellowship from the U.S. Department of Education. Feel free to look around if you would like to learn more about me!
